EAA!!を含む世界のメディアやゲームファンの投票によって選ばれた、多大な功績を残したゲームを称える年次アワード「The Game Awards 2023」が12月7日に開催された。今年のゲーム・オブ・ザ・イヤーにはアクションRPG『バルダーズ・ゲート3』が選ばれ、その他5部門でも受賞した。
シューター関連ではベストVRゲームに『バイオハザード ヴィレッジ VRモード』、ベストeスポーツゲームに『ヴァロラント』、ベストeスポーツコーチにEvil Geniusesのpotter氏が選ばれた。

GOTYは『バルダーズ・ゲート3』
『バルダーズ・ゲート3 』は、テーブルトークRPG「ダンジョンズ&ドラゴンズ」をベースにした『バルダーズ・ゲート』シリーズ最新作。ダイスロールでの成否判定などをゲームシステムに落とし込みつつ、自由度の高いストーリーや攻略、戦略性の高いバトルシステムが特徴。PC版のメタスコアは96で、これは『GTAV』と並んで歴代2位と正真正銘の神ゲーとなる。なおGolden Joystick Awards 2023でも7冠を達成したおり、まさにこの年を代表するモンスタータイトルだ。
日本では12月21日に、スパイク・チュンソフトから発売される。
